$7,000 Rolex Giveaway Announced by Time and Gems
Fri, 06 Aug 2010, 08:58:43 EDT
LOS ANGELES, Calif., Aug. 6 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Time and Gems (TimeandGems.com), an independent Rolex® retailer offering premium Rolex customizations, today announced a diamond Rolex watch giveaway valued at $7,000 as a thank-you to all new visitors of their Web site that sign up for their bi-weekly newsletter.
"We really care about our customers, and realize that purchasing a Rolex for the first time is a big decision," says Jason Smith, president of Time and Gems. "Most of our customers are just browsing and often take a couple of weeks to make a decision to purchase a Rolex that costs several thousand dollars. Our newsletter helps keep them updated of new watches in our inventory that we're constantly adding to as well as special discounts and tips from our Rolex experts."
Pre-owned Rolex watches are relatively unknown to many. Most people end up buying their first Rolex at an authorized dealer brand new. What they don't realize is that most pre-owned Rolex watches sold by independent retailers like Time and Gems look and function like they're almost new, having been fully polished and serviced, and can cost up to 70% less than their new counterparts.
Time and Gems offers over a thousand Rolex watches on their Web site, making them one of the largest independent Rolex retailers online offering models in both factory original as well as customized in different colors and configurations that Rolex does not offer.

All Black Rolex Watches Revealed - First Video to Show Top-Secret Rolex PVD 'Blackening' Process Released
Mon, 21 Jun 2010, 08:59:30 EDT
LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 21 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Time and Gems (www.TimeandGems.com), an independent Rolex retailer offering premium Rolex customizations, releases a video on their website that shows in detail the top-secret PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process that many fine Swiss watch manufacturers are using to coat stainless steel watches with an all-black highly scratch-resistant coating.
"After launching our PVD Rolex watches in December, we had a phenomenal response," says Jason Smith, president of Time and Gems. "Our customers would often ask how we did it and whether the PVD coating was really better than stainless steel and equal in quality to the Rolex watches we were coating. The video really answers all their questions and more, showing our first-class attention to detail and why we're the online leader in pre-owned Rolex."
The PVD process not only transforms the look of stainless steel watches, but also surpasses stainless steel in terms of toughness. The PVD process occurs in a vacuum chamber, at Time and Gems' multi-million dollar coating facility, interpenetrating the steel with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating and providing a chemical barrier on the watch that protects against the elements, reduces the effects of oxidation and increases the hardness rating by almost 20 times.
To put things in perspective 904L a.k.a. "Rolex Steel" has a rating of 490 Vickers (hardness rating) and sapphire crystal has a rating of 2,500 Vickers. The DLC coating applied through PVD has a hardness rating of up to 10,000 Vickers providing an ultra-hard, highly scratch-resistant coating that will not fade or peel.

Time and Gems Launches New Site - Makes Buying a Used Rolex Watch Online Easier Than Buying Offline
TUE, 29 Sep 2009, 03:19:30 EDT
Los Angeles, CA, September 29, 2009 --(PR NEWSWIRE)-- "Many people still don't know that buying a Rolex used is an option when considering a watch purchase. Making it easy for our customers, especially first time buyers of a Rolex to find the watch they want is essential." says Jason Smith, owner of Los Angeles based Time and Gems. "We have the largest collection in the country and make finding exactly the watch you want possible in just a few clicks. With the new site, we've really brought the in-store buying experience online."
Other sites typically have navigation that is not as well thought out, making users click through page after page of items or have navigation that is frustrating to users. Navigation is specially designed by web usability specialists to help visitors easily browse the hundreds of used Rolex watches in stock and find the exact watch they want at http://www.timeandgems.com.
Education is typically lacking for many shopping around for a Rolex. Time and Gems plans to have a comprehensive Rolex learning center for buyers looking to learn about the history of models they're planning to purchase as well as little intricacies and features of each watch that many online retailers tend to omit.
"Despite a recession the used Rolex watch market is still booming" says Smith. "People realize that buying a Rolex is something that will last them a lifetime and is a great investment even in a bad economy. Our job is to help people find something they'll enjoy for the rest of their lives."
