Like-New Condition
All of our watches are fully cleaned, adjusted, and authenticated by our Rolex-certified watchmaker so we guarantee them to be in like-new condition. Every timepiece carries the "Certified Timepiece" tag so you know it has gone through our comprehensive Time and Gems 5-Point Inspection:

- Each and every part of the watch movement is ultrasonically cleaned, degreased and then individually inspected for any signs of excessive wear.
- The watch case and bracelet is completely polished and refinished to remove any scratches, blemishes or signs of wear so that the watch looks brand new.
- All moving parts will then be lubricated to ensure that critical parts of the movement will last to their full expected life.
- Each Rolex is then tested in 5 positions over a period of 48 hours to ensure proper time keeping. Any required adjustments will be made accordingly.
- The watch is then tested for water resistance and if needed, gaskets and seals are replaced to assure that your Rolex meets Rolex factory specs.

All of our watches come with a comprehensive one-year in-house warranty on the internal parts. The warranty does not cover abuse, normal wear and tear or water damage.

Please note: Many of our timepieces contain aftermarket or "custom" diamond bezels. Unless a Rolex uses 100% factory Rolex parts, there is no guarantee that it will be waterproof. We recommend you treat your watch as "water resistant" and therefore not submersible in water but resistant to small amounts of water from activities like washing your hands.

This 72 hour inspection period gives you ample time to have your Rolex watch authenticated locally if you so choose. We 100% GUARANTEE every watch we sell to be GENUINE Rolex. Please note that MANY of the diamonds on our watches are set AFTERMARKET (not by Rolex). This will be stated in the product description as "custom" and also in the appraisal you receive. All original or "Factory Rolex" diamonds are also stated in the product descriptions and appraisal as "factory" or "original"
Refunds
Our experienced watch experts will be help to guide you to the Rolex that is just right for you. Keep in mind, we cannot ship watches across the country to "try on" in order to keep costs low. We require that ALL NON DEFECTIVE RETURNS ARE SUBJECT TO A 20% RESTOCKING FEE so please ensure that the watch you order is the one you want. If you are not happy with the look of it, we will gladly exchange it for you within the 10-Day Exchange Period.

Are you an authorized Rolex dealer?
No, we are not authorized Rolex dealers. This gives us the freedom to price point at our own discretion. If we were authorized dealers, we would be unable to offer you the substantial discounts that we do. In fact, authorized Rolex dealers are not allowed to sell on the Internet.
Why should I buy a preowned Rolex?
A new Rolex watch, like most luxury items, will depreciate in value immediately after it is purchased. By purchasing a pre-owned Rolex, you can avoid this initial depreciation. These pre-owned watches greatly hold their value and are sometimes worth more than their original cost later on.
What kind of condition are your watches in?
Most of the watches we sell are in first-rate, excellent, or "like new" condition. We define "excellent" as the following: There are no visible scratches on the case, band, bezel, or crystal. One may notice some slight stretch between the links on the band if compared to a brand new watch, but it will be negligible. All the watches are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, maintained, and should give you many years of service. We do improve and change crystals, worn links, hands, and dials as necessary with genuine Rolex parts by a Rolex-certified watchmaker.
Does the watch come with box and papers?
With most preowned Rolexes, the original box and papers are not usually still with the watch. Time and Gems guarantees authenticity on all the watches we sell, and they do come in a handsome generic wooden double box set. The "original papers" are nothing more than expired warranty paperwork from Rolex, from when the watch was originally purchased. All of our Rolexes are authenticated by our Rolex certified watchmakers and all model/serial numbers are intact on the watch. A Rolex box is available for order if desired.
How do I know what year my Rolex watch was produced?
Every Rolex watch ever produced has a serial number inscribed between the lugs on the 6 o'clock side. You can tell the year of the watch by consulting this Rolex Serial Number Index: http://www.watches.co.uk/watches/information/rolex-serial-numbers
How do I know Time and Gems is a reputable dealer?

What do you do to ensure security and prevent fraud?
Time and Gems uses secure socket layer (SSL) technology to provide a secure shopping site. The information that is provided during the shopping and checkout process is encrypted for your security and protection. For our customers protection, each credit card order is reviewed by our credit card security department. All information is verified before the watch is shipped.
Where do you get your watches?
All of our watches are obtained through a network of suppliers that we have established over many years. Without this network, we would not be able to supply our customers with a steady source of watches at the discounts we offer. We only deal with reputable dealers. Many customer requests have been for rare items. When you call or e-mail us inquiring about a watch, occasionally we will have to check with our network about availability, so please be patient.
How do I know these watches are authentic?
Time and Gems does NOT deal in replicas or non-authentic merchandise. Replicas are illegal. Every preowned Rolex we sell is thoroughly inspected, cleaned, polished and authenticated by one of our Rolex certified watchmakers.
Are your bands and parts genuine Rolex or Aftermarket?
We offer both genuine Rolex parts and Aftermarket parts on the watches we sell. All aftermarket parts will be noted in the listing and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Our diamonds will be aftermarket unless otherwise noted, since one can save a substantial amount of money with quality aftermarket diamonds, which are often indistinguishable from the diamonds set by Rolex. These diamond dials and bezels are disclosed as being "custom" diamond dials and bezels. Also, most of the bracelets on our accessories page are Italian aftermarket. However, we do not use these same bands on the watches we sell unless it is noted in the listing. It is very important for us to maintain a good reputation.
What is the difference between a genuine Rolex part, an aftermarket part, and blackmarket?
Genuine Rolex Parts are made by Rolex. Aftermarket parts are legal products made to specifically fit Rolex models. These parts will not have the word Rolex or the trademarked crown logo inscribed anywhere on the product. Blackmarket parts are illegal imitations that violate federal and state copyright and trademark laws. Time and Gems does not buy or sell blackmarket parts or bands.
How do I know what the model / serial number of my watch is?
You will find the model number of any Rolex watch on the case of the watch between the lugs on the 12 o'clock side. The serial number can be found in the same place on the 6 o'clock side. All of the watches we sell will have these identifying numbers intact. We never file down serial numbers, and highly frown upon those who do.
What are your qualifications to work on my Rolex watch?
We employ a team of Rolex-certified watchmakers. Our watchmakers have all been trained by Rolex in Switzerland, and are regulated by Rolex. They have a combined experience of over 40 years.
What is your turn around time when working on my Rolex watch?
Of course, this will depend on the work that is being done, but we always try to get your watch back to you as timely as possible, usually within 2 to 3 weeks, so please have patience.
What precautions should I take when shipping my Rolex watch to you for repair?
Pack the watch securely in several soft packing layers in a larger box. The idea is not to make it obvious what is inside. We strongly recommend that you ship UPS or FedEx air, and insure your watch for its full value. We always ship next-day air whenever possible, and recommend you do the same. Also, take note of the tracking number, since both FedEx and UPS will provide tracking information online.
How often should I have my Rolex watch serviced?
A Rolex is an investment that will keep its value if serviced regularly. We recommend that a mechanical timepiece should be cleaned and serviced about once every 2 to 3 years. A Rolex watch needs regular maintenance in order maintain optimal running order. Just like your car, it is critical to keep mechanical watch parts well lubricated and clean.
I have a really nice imitation Rolex. Can you get parts, or work on it?
No, all imitation Rolex watches are trademark infringements, and are illegal contraband in the United States. We are a legitimate business, and do not support the sale of illegal goods.
